The next time you're in San Francisco, do yourself a favor and head out to the Richmond district for the city's best Thai food, served in a terrific atmosphere. The Khan Toke Thai House sits in between 23rd and 24th at 5937 Geary Boulevard, a solid 20-30 minute cab ride from downtown and worth every penny. The reasonably priced, wonderfully prepared fare includes standouts both spicy and savory, with a nice selection of chicken, seafood, and pork-based dishes. Uncrate favorites include the delicious satay, "Thai spicy" prawns with hot chiles, and fried pineapple topped with a scoop of ice cream for dessert.
